Choose a car wash for everyday exterior dirt. Consider a full detail when the cabin and exterior both need focused attention. Ask separately about stains, embedded hair, scratches, and specialized protection.
Start with the problem, not the package name.
Walk around your vehicle and sit in the driver seat. Is the main problem a dusty exterior, or do you notice carpet buildup, sticky surfaces, and dirty interior glass? A package name does not tell you whether those particular concerns are included. Write down the three things you most want improved.
What a wash is good at.
A wash is a useful starting point for loose exterior dirt and road film on a finish in reasonable condition. It generally does not address a neglected cabin or repair paint defects. Wheel and glass inclusions vary, so compare the actual scope rather than assuming every wash includes the same tasks.
When detailing becomes the better conversation.
Detailing gives more time and attention to individual surfaces. An interior detail may be enough if the exterior is already maintained. A full detail makes sense to discuss when both sides need work. Neither term automatically includes paint correction, ceramic coating, or guaranteed stain removal.
Ask these questions before agreeing.
What areas will be cleaned? What is excluded? How does vehicle condition affect the quote? What happens if additional work is recommended? A clear answer to those questions is more valuable than choosing the longest menu.
