THE SHORT ANSWER
What is interior detailing?
Interior detailing addresses the vehicle cabin, including accessible carpets, seats, trim, and glass. Cleaning methods should match each material. Heavy staining, pet hair, and persistent odors need a separate condition review.
Beyond the visible surfaces.
The places you do not notice first often hold the most debris. Seat seams, accessible rails, cup holders, and the edges of floor mats need attention alongside the dashboard. Emptying personal belongings before an appointment gives a detailer better access and protects items you want to keep.
A material-first approach.
Fabric, leather, coated leather, piano-black trim, and touchscreens respond differently to cleaning. A glossy dressing is not a substitute for removing grime. Discuss sensitive finishes and existing damage, and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions for screens and specialty materials.
Spills deserve a conversation.
The age, source, and depth of a spill affect what cleaning can achieve. A surface mark is different from liquid that reached the padding. Share that history before scheduling. A permanent stain or damaged finish may still be visible after the material has been cleaned.
